The poem “Where Everything is Music” written by Sufi poet Rumi, was my starting point for this project. It talks about an openness, a constant music all around which soothes and comforts. A world beyond words. Something raw and natural, something powerful that we all should embrace.

By following the flow of the poem, I created lines and curves through embroidery. This can be seen in the following few images.
Cutouts of net were used to create a 3D surface, which gets featured in a few pieces of the collection.
A print was also created, which is to be digitally printed. it is a seamless pattern, with overlapping petal like abstract shapes. A combination of the print and embroidery lines would also be a part of the collection.

I want the collection to be unisex. Blurring the lines between masculinity and femininity. What really defines gender? How else can one express their personality, without adhering to gender boundaries?

The garments are made of cotton handwoven fabric, naturally dyed, treated with hand embroidery and coconut shell buttons. Scrap fabric was used to adorn the fabric.
