An Afternoon, is a small dye and fashion project taken up by my brother and me, during the long lockdown period at home. We wanted to use materials from our home garden and try our hand at eco printing. Our mother has a beautiful garden with various leaves and flowers, and that inspired us to start this project. We started out by making a mood board and creating a colour story for the project.
After doing some trials with a few plants, we picked sweet potato leaves and cosmos flowers for our final fabric treatment. Below is the entire dyeing process documented.
We wanted to create a menswear collection, inspired by the casual streetwear look with a chic twist.
The garments are made of cotton eco printed fabric and various satin fabrics, treated with fine finishing and wooden buttons. The collection is styled with tan accessories.
