This course was among the first introductions to Textile Design, at NID. Over two weeks, we were introduced to the JUKI sewing machine and learnt the basic sewing techniques, some of which are as below.
Using the techniques learnt, I chose to make a ruffled bag, keeping the colour palette neutral, and adding a hand embroidered unicorn patch, to introduce an element of fun in the product.
As my final product, using the technique of subtraction of fabric, I made this reversible cushion cover, paired with a smaller cushion cover. By changing the orientation and by reversing the flap of the cover, one can use this cushion case in 9 different ways.
