A four week course at NID. Creating prints, taking the Periwinkle flower as the inspiration. Starting by understanding repeat patterns, by creating an overall surface using a single motif, as an introduction to surface design. This was followed by combining blocks and printing surfaces.
The process of creating a repeat unit, by carefully studying the plant itself and deriving repeat patterns. Visually balanced surfaces are very important, and along with it, a pair of buttas and a bel (Motifs and a border) were created.
